Is this a good video camera? I dont know anything about them. What should I be looking for?

Answer:
Well, it seems not so good, but it is also kind of cheap. It is probably for beginners or kids or something. But, still, I give it a thumbs down.

First of all, they don't specify on the resolution. If they state “high resolution”, like they did, it could just be crap, and probably is. They don't tell you exactly what the resolution is. I would look for 720 x 480p. “i” is fine too.

And, it has a 4x zoom, but it's digital zoom. Digital zoom just crops out the image and magnifies it, greatly lowering the quality in the process. Most camera's digital zoom is in the 100's! So, yeah, that's crap.

You're going to want to look for optical zoom, not digital, and if it is digital, make sure the number is in the hundreds! 4x digital zoom is the crappiest zoom I’ve ever heard of! Seriously!!!

Also, it's a kid's camera. and it's 50 bucks, (not including shipping)! And look at the maker of it. “Jazz Cameras”? I have never heard of them. I would look for Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, etc.

And, he said, “this is not only the ideal camera for children that this company has ever made it is also the ideal value on the market.” First of all, that company probably mad only one camera or something. And, sure it's a good value, it's a crappy camera!

THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!

Believe me, once it gets to you, it'll turn out to be some piece of crap. They're tricking you. There are so many gaps in the information. It's at least too basic for a 13-year-old. It sounds like it's either crap or for babies.

A popular camcorder is the Sony Handycam. It is widely used, so I would suggest it. Look for that one.

Keep looking, and remember Sony Handycam is probably good. And, look out for the things I told you about. You want at least 18x OPTICAL zoom, at least 720 x 480 resolution, which is standard for most camcorders including DVD and MiniDV, (tapes). If you want high definition, that is 1920 x 1080, but cameras that can shoot in that are high-priced and rare, but are becoming more common. I think Handycams shoot in that now, (but, again, they are the expensive kind). (And, make sure they tell you what the resolution is. Don't just let them say “high resolution”.) And, make sure you check out the maker of it, (like Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, etc.). Make sure it isn't a scam and good luck!

Answer:
That one looks adorable (coming from a 13 year-old, myself) but I advocate the Canon Cameras. The Canon DC310 was the one I got for my birthday after doing tons of research. This one is around 400 dollars (a bit more pricey…) but makes mini-DVDs and takes photos (with a memory card-$10.00) as well! :-)

Answer:
it looks like a cheap camera, try finding something that is going to last if your spending money on it then its just a waste

PLEASE help with mine!!
